In recent researches, there are links between low testosterone and a failing health. Conditions such as obesity, hypertension, metabolic syndrome and diabetes have been linked to low testosterone levels in men. Testosterone deficiency is not the cause of all these health conditions but it is interesting to take a look at the connection.
One study involving 2,100 men above 45 years old showed that chance of obese men having low testosterone is 2.4 times higher. The chance of men with diabetes having testosterone deficiency is 2.1 times higher while the chance of men with hypertension acquiring low testosterone is 1.8 times higher.
Medical experts are not saying however that testosterone deficiency causes such conditions. Most of them say these medical problems or men with poor health may actually acquire low testosterone. As of the present, more research is being done to establish the correlation of poor health and low testosterone.
